Internships

Take advantage of our internship opportunities!

In return for hours interned, we can provide the intern with college credits, community service hours, and letters of recommendation! This is also a great opportunity to network with others who share an interest in civic duty, as well as event production and promotions.

We want to assure you, this isn’t a dull, summer internship.
SCP is a FUN organization to support and work for!

We are putting the call out to the community, churches and universities in hopes of reaching our goal of 150 volunteers and interns to man the crew for this event, which is expected to reach an attendance rate of 3,000+ people. This will be a corporately sponsored event, teaming up with Quicken Loans, the Skillman Foundation, State Farm Insurance, Red Bull and other popular brands.

If you’re looking for an internship that you have to wear a suit, or sit in a cubicle all day, this is NOT the internship for you! We love working with energetic, creative, and goal-oriented people, especially in high-volume settings such as our backpack drives.

So what internship opportunities do we offer?

Focused training will be offered in the main concentrations:

  • Event Management – Work directly with the Event Manager, whom works with 5 festivals a year.  You will work with Performer Contracts, Sound/Tech Riders, Event Logistics, Site Maps, Vendor Relations, and Event Committees.
  • Event Production – If you are study Theater Technology, Sound Engineering, this realm is great for you.  Assuring performance tech riders are met, helping with set-up of the stages and management of power distribution lines.
  • Marketing – Depending on the marketing realm you are interested in going into, we have roles within Public Relations, Social Media, and Street Team Marketing.  You can try your hand in all realms, or focus in on one field.
  • Graphic Design – We need new logos, banners, and fliers designed all the time!
  • Web Maintenance – We have two main websites, the SCP Non-Profit main site that you are on now, which is a WordPress base, and the www.BackpackmusicFestival.net which is an html JavaScript coding site.
  • Vendor Relations – Our Kids Corner, parent network, and vendor areas all require various aspects of vendor relations, from approach and securing them, pre-event logistics, marketing inclusion opportunities, and on-site load-in/load-out assistance.
  • Volunteer Management – Every festival and non-profit fundraising event is made possible by the assistance of their volunteers. Volunteer Management is a trait that is valuable in a variety of fields.  You will work with pre-scheduling, pre-event training meetings, on-site check-ins, and on-site management.

If this internship sounds like something that would be both beneficial and enriching as a student please contact our Event Manager, through sending a cover letter and resume.  Please be aware that these are unpaid internship positions.

Upon receiving your resume, we set-up an interview with the potential interns, and we will need to see a portfolio if the students concentration is in Graphic Design.   We look forward to getting to know some new faces!

Thank you for your consideration, please contact us if you have any questions.
